Sound familiar?

Most founders hit the same three walls.

You're not doing it wrong — the system is genuinely confusing. Here's what we see most often.

  • Ran out of cash before getting traction

Funding options exist — Start Up Loans, Innovate UK grants, SEIS/EIS — but most founders don't know where to start, or assume they won't qualify. They run out of runway before they find out.

  • Set up wrong — then surprised by the tax bill

Registering as a sole trader when you needed a limited company (or vice versa) can cost thousands in avoidable tax. Companies House isn't hard — but getting the structure right at the start matters.

  • No honest advisor — founder isolation

Most early-stage founders are making it up as they go, surrounded by people who don't really understand what they're going through. That's a harder problem than the paperwork.

How it works

Four steps. No surprises. No pressure.

You're not committing to anything by getting in touch — here's exactly what happens next.

  1. Free intro call

You explain where you are. We listen — no pitch, no jargon. 20 minutes, completely free. (~20 minutes · no commitment)

  2. We set the foundations

Formation docs, structure review, HMRC registration. Companies House confirmation typically within 24–48 hours.

  3. We sort the funding

We identify which routes you're eligible for — loans, grants, SEIS/EIS — and support the application. (Where applicable.)

  4. We keep you compliant

Ongoing support so nothing falls through the cracks — deadlines, filings, and someone to call when it gets complicated.

Who we help

If any of this sounds like you, you're in the right place.

  • The anxious idea-stage founder

You haven't registered yet and the Companies House website looks like a government form designed to confuse you. (It is. That's why we exist.)

You're not alone in this — every founder starts here.

  • The side-hustler going full-time

You're a sole trader turning over enough to make the leap — but you're not sure if a limited company is right for you, or how to make the switch without breaking anything.

Most founders ask this. We'll work it out together.

  • The funding-seeker

You know there's money out there — Start Up Loans, grants, investors — but every application looks like it was written by a lawyer for other lawyers. We translate.

You probably qualify for more than you think.

  • The overwhelmed multi-tasker

You're doing everything — sales, ops, finance, compliance — and something's about to slip. You need someone in your corner who actually knows what they're talking about.

This is exactly what ongoing support is for.

Real funding routes. Real published figures. No fluff.

We help you access these — it's part of what makes LaunchPath different from a standard formation agent.

Government-backed

Start Up Loans

£500–£25,000 per director. Fixed interest rate of 6% per annum. Repayment terms of 1–5 years. No application fee. Comes with 12 months of free mentoring. Available to businesses trading under 36 months. We support the full application. (Source: British Business Bank / GOV.UK · Published terms.)

Non-repayable grants

Innovate UK Grants

Non-repayable grants typically ranging from £25,000 to £500,000+ for innovative UK businesses. Highly competitive but well-matched founders have strong success rates. Eligibility depends on sector, innovation type, and project stage. We do the eligibility check first — no wasted effort. (Source: Innovate UK / UKRI · Amounts vary by competition round.)

Investor tax relief

SEIS / EIS

SEIS: raise up to £250,000 from investors who receive 50% income tax relief. EIS: raise up to £5 million; investors receive 30% relief. Both schemes make UK angel and early-stage investment significantly more attractive. We advise on eligibility and investor-readiness. (Source: HMRC SEIS/EIS guidance · Published limits 2024/25.)
